Job Summary
The Communications & Engagement Specialist is part of the Employee Experience Team and plays a key role in fostering a connected and engaged workforce by developing and executing internal communication strategies and employee engagement initiatives. This role supports company-wide messaging, enhances the employee experience, and strengthens organizational culture through compelling storytelling, strategic communication planning, and engagement activities. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with a passion for collaboration, creativity, and driving employee connection.
Position Responsibilities
Internal Communications (65%)
- Develop and deliver compelling written and visual content for email, intranet, and digital signage, ensuring a consistent and engaging tone across all employee and executive communications.
- Support the strategic design, development, and implementation of communications related to organizational initiatives, ensuring clarity, alignment, and employee engagement.
- Maintain a unified and strategic approach to internal messaging, ensuring all communications reflect the company’s Purpose, Values, and Business Strategy.
- Partner with leaders and stakeholders across departments to understand communication needs, provide strategic guidance, and deliver impactful messaging.
- Address communication challenges, offer insights and recommendations to enhance leadership messaging and employee engagement.
- Provide system-related support and administration for internal communication tools, including the mobile intranet platform, to enhance accessibility and engagement.
- Oversee multiple communication initiatives simultaneously, ensuring alignment, timely execution, and clear visibility of milestones.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes, best practices, templates, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in internal communications.
- Compile engagement data to track effectiveness of communication activities and make recommendations based on findings.
Employee Engagement (35%)
- Lead the development of employee engagement initiatives, events, and recognition activities to enhance workplace culture, drive connection, and promote community involvement.
- Support the coordination of employee surveys and feedback mechanisms, analyzing results and recommending action plans to drive engagement.
- Support the employee experience for a dispersed workforce by creating and promoting opportunities for engagement and two-way feedback, including partnership and support of Employee Resource Groups.
- Drive participation and awareness of company programs, events, and initiatives through creative campaigns and communication strategies.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the company’s evolving communication priorities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content across multiple channels for diverse internal audiences.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in communication planning and content calendar development.
- Familiar with business strategy and able to translate complex ideas or concepts into impactful, people-focused communication plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality, exercising sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Experience with intranet platforms, digital communications, and content management systems.
- Enthusiasm about creating a positive employee experience through thoughtful and impactful communication and engagement initiatives.
- Proficiency with design programs like Canva, Adobe Express, or similar.
- Knowledge of employee engagement best practices, culture-building strategies, and change management principles is a plus.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, corporate communications, or related field.
- Experience or certification in change management preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Staffbase or a similar platform is preferred.
- Relevant certifications will enhance qualifications.

Total Rewards Package:
Compensation
- Base: $71,379 - $92,793 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
