JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The CMI Analyst is responsible for identifying and reporting on industry and market-level data to various stakeholders throughout the organization, including in periodic Insights Briefings, to be shared with leadership. Other responsibilities include working with stakeholders across the organization to identify and analyze data useful to various initiatives and provide reporting on such research.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
- Identify and analyze high-level industry and market-level data (e.g., IHS Markit industry data), including keeping an eye on high-level trends across the economy, politics, industry, and the market, focusing on importance to the organization
- Understand how competition performs in the market, including innovations, company reports, etc. and work data into larger presentations as needed
- Report on data to key stakeholders, including in periodic Insights Briefings
- Summarize critical points of data and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders
- Identify and prioritize opportunities provide research to stakeholders across the organization
- Support CMI Lead, as needed, including by providing deep insights on economic, industrial, consumer and market trends in coordination with consumer insights
- Provide quantitative analysis of data, as needed, including for Brand Health studies and various ad hoc research projects
- Supplement qualitative research with quantitative data, as possible, to complement ad hoc research (e.g., customer training session focus groups)
- Attends meetings as required and/or assigned
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned
- Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects to multiple stakeholders at once
- Demonstrated willingness to be proactive in taking on projects
- Ability to identify optimal way(s) to achieve stakeholders’ objectives on analysis, including creating compelling presentations and reports
- Quantitative research experience required (does not have to be in a particular statistical package)
- Qualitative research experience preferred
- Understanding of how to interpret and apply marketing metrics and incorporate into research and recommendations
- Ability to identify key insights from large, disparate sets of data and present them in clear, concise manner, building in recommendations based on analysis
- Ability to influence and secure support from cross-functional team members
- Intermediate to advanced PC-based applications (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- B.A. degree required (preferably in research, analytics, or social science)
- 2 - 4 years of experience in related field (Marketing, consumer research, analytics, etc.) is required
- Experience in Excel, PPT, Word and other similar applications required; statistical package experience preferred (SPSS, etc.)
- Some experience in Qualtrics preferred
- Strong preference for experience in building materials or related field
