JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Industrial Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating opportunities and supporting sales activities for Field Sales while promoting quality and excellent customer service; contacting new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Customer Sales

  • Grow Industrial sales project funnel through lead follow-up, outbound cold calls, and emails, partnering with outside sales.
  • Identify favorable projects within an assigned database of leads and enter into viegaforce.   
  • Identify net new business partner prospects and create interest in using Viega products    
  • Understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate team member for further development and closure.
  • Assist in closing sales and achieve quarterly objectives.
  • Research Industrial accounts, identify key players and generate interest in Viega product and services.
  • Maintain and expand database of prospects within assigned territory/segment.
  • Partner with field sales Directors.
  • Geographical coverage of areas not directly covered by Field Sales

 

Lead Generation and Follow Up

  • Receives potential leads obtained through trade shows, magazine sales or marketing; contacts customer via phone; provides literature, product availability, pricing information, technical information and other data as requested. 

 

Follow Up

  • Contacts customer following a sale to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction; resolves any issues, discrepancies or complaints.
  • Actively solicits additional business.

 

Other

  • Attends meetings as required and/or assigned
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned
  • Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Complies with the safety rules and guidelines 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical knowledge regarding piping systems, industrial piping applications, mechanical piping applications or pipe, valve and fitting experience
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Word/Excel, Power Point, Business Warehouse and Customer Relations Management software
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to perform business math
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision
  • Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level. 

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AND 
  • 2-4 years related customer service and sales experience
  •  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
