Job Description Summary

The Manager, Associations and Events position is a key role to drive business growth through industry associations. This position will be responsible to set the strategy for our involvement with these organizations, create marketing plans for selected events, execute those plans, and track success.  They coordinate with internal stakeholders on who will attend events and/or represent Viega.

 

Job Description Details

  • Creates long-term objectives and plans for each association.
  • Collaborate with Market Management team and Sales team leaders to identify organizations to drive growth, identify new customer targets and leads, and introduce organizations to our products and benefits. 
  • Research and identify opportunities for growth and expansion involvement of each organization.
  • Work with Marketing and Sales Leaders to ensure participation and efforts are coordinated.
  • Work with Marketing team when exhibits are required for events.
  • Pass leads to Marketing and Inside Sales to cultivate relationship before passing to Sales team.
  • Identify customer segmentation and targets from each organization and work with Market Management to incorporate into strategy and sale’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate who will represent Viega for each association.  Develop and maintain relationships with association counterparts to benefit objectives.
  • Track program KPIs
  • Manage the budget
  • Lead 3 direct reports.  The team manages trade shows, our promotional vehicle, annual sales meeting etc.
  • This role will also have responsibilities for one-time special projects.  Examples could include projects like special marketing campaigns, revamping our employee branding efforts, setting strategy for our trade show calendar, project lead for new seminar centers etc.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Will be required to travel up to 30% of the time.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage stakeholders, engage and enlist support from, and build trust with, other functions
  • Strong business acumen.  Understand the P&L and how marketing metrics relate to financial performance.  Be able to recommend investments based on business fundamentals and marketing principles
  • Ability to provide strategic direction for program and creative development including briefing, program and creative review
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing and effectively present in front of customers 
  • Ability to solve problems and execute innovative solutions
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Marketing. MBA Preferred
  • 8 – 10 Years’ experience and at least 5 years in a marketing role.
  • Experience in a general management function (e.g. brand or product management) a plus
  • Experience creating strategy and 3 year plans
  • Experience working with outside organizations on programs or events
  • Experience in event planning (such as trade shows)
  • Experience in building industry or industrial environments a plus
  • Experience working with industry associations a plus

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

 

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $100,000 to $115,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
