Material Management Analyst I

Job-ID 4147 - Broomfield, CO 


Maintains integrity of SAP master data settings. Simulate, analyze and present the impact of proposed settings changes. Participate in global and US material management monthly meetings.  Work cross-functionally to develop knowledge base, document standard processes and identify areas for continuous improvement.



Master Data

  • Ensure master data settings are set up correctly at all stages of the product life cycle
  • Support SAP material master standardization by running quarterly review of material master settings to ensure data integrity.  Identify and work cross-functionally to correct discrepancies and develop improvements to the process
  • Maintain safety stock tables for all US produced material
  • Recalculate safety stock settings for US purchased goods twice annually taking in to account historical consumption, lead-time and supplier safety lead-time.  Review proposal with purchasing team and work with IT to upload reconciled values


  • Report on range of coverage inventory development across individual US segments
  • Prepare updated inventory rainbow charts based on US segment inventory turns goal
  • Prepare proposal for extending new / existing materials for additional distribution.  Define logic and communicate implementation plan.  Coordinate cross-functionally with demand planning, distribution requirement planning, customer service and IT to implement plan
  • Utilize and update business intelligence tools, systems, spreadsheets, or outputs.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required

Special Project Support

  • Support life cycle management process (new product launches, discontinuation, excess and obsolete)
  • Support production transitions, as necessary
  • Participate in US and global material management meeting
  • Support key metric project teams (ATD, multiple deliveries, etc…)


  • Provide support to the Director of Supply Chain Development and Controlling or lead special studies requiring data compilation; analyze and interpret information in oral and written presentations.
  • Facilitate and attend operational meetings as required or assigned.


  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Special  Job Dimensions

  • Will be required to travel up to 20% of the time.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MS office programs: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand, analyze and present complex information in an understandable format
  • Ability to find and understand trends/outliers and facilitate improvements
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively coordinate schedules and work flow
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills to evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various forms and formats
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • BS degree or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 year’s related work experience, preferred
  • 1 year experience using SAP, preferred
