Job Description Summary

The Pricing Specialist is responsible for assisting in executing the pricing strategy through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Finance members. The role is responsible for continuously enhancing the pricing process to service customers, which will result in increased sales and profit for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures pricing policy is properly maintained within the Pricing, Sales, and Finance departments.
  • Manages the monthly reporting of key performance indicators in a user-friendly format for Sales, Finance, & Marketing leadership team.
  • Manages the pricing process for the organization while ensuring compliance by controlling the exemption process, including all forms of pricing including rebates, contras and other related discounts associated with pricing.
  • Ensures pricing is accurate and complete for all products within SAP during all price adjustments.
  • Takes lead with field sales to support implementation of SPAs and other pricing decisions.
  • Address pricing conflicts to best manage flow of sales.
  • Maintains customer multipliers for product lines based on the distributor setup/change form.
  • Facilitates input of new SPA quotes and special pricing based on proper approvals into SAP.
  • Resolves issues where SPA quotes expire or exceed maximum value. 
  • Manages exceptions to price increases and special pricing communicating with regional and senior leadership.
  • Maintains specialized pricing tables for variety of strategic needs.
  • Maintains flexgroups for use with the pricing and rebate teams.
  • Ensures compliance with distribution policies as needed.
  • Works with sales, management, and product managers to implement price changes into the market.
  • Works with analysts to develop reports to track & monitor the pricing projects and associated activities on various product lines and market segments.
  • Assists with any possible technology transfers of pricing systems.

  • Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time

 

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and familiarity of computer programs including the Microsoft Office Suite and Analytics Platforms, with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with query and reporting analysis tools, with familiarity of cloud-based solutions and relational database concepts (MySQL, MS SQL, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a cross functional environment
  • Ability to use logic and insight to solve problems and create effective solutions
  • Organized and capable multi-tasker and self-starter

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Finance related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in account management or customer service with exposure to pricing administration or management is required.
  • Previous work experience with Vistex pricing systems strongly preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

 

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $71,000.00 to $97,000.00 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
