Job Description Summary

The Risk Manager is an integral part of the Legal & Compliance, reporting to the Company’s Compliance Counsel. This position works to limit Viega’s risk exposure through management of both the Company’s enterprise risk assessment process as well as its corporate insurance portfolio. Works cross-functionally to identify enterprise risks and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive and enterprise-wide risk assessments to identify potential risks to the organization’s assets, operations, and reputation as well as developing strategies to mitigate risks
  • Develops and updates risk management policies and procedures;
  • Conducts training sessions and workshops to improve risk awareness among employees, ensuring that risk management principles are understood and applied across all levels of the organization
  • Identifies and tracks countermeasures
  • Monitors and reports on risks and countermeasures.
  • Administers and manages corporate insurance policies 
  • Collaborates with insurance brokers and insurers to negotiate terms and premiums for various insurance policies;
  • Works with the claims and legal teams as the primary point of contact with the Company’s insurance brokers and carriers;
  • Maintains and issues Certificates of Insurance
  • Evaluates and investigates potential risks to the organization
  • Quantitatively and qualitatively assesses risks to prioritize management strategies
  • Develops risk management policies and protocols, including managing Viega’s ERM process and building a risk register
  • Supports key stakeholders to ensure their understanding of Viega’s insurance coverage

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software – including: computers, printers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively articulate complexity – especially with regard to communicate risks and risk mitigation strategies - for non-experts 
  • Strong Interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively partner with key stakeholders and tactfully exercise influence across the organization 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in driving projects to completion 
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks and priorities 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment, making sound decisions based on best available information 

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of risk assessment experience required
  • Some work experience with GRC tools required
  • Previous work experience at a risk management company, insurance carrier or broker preferred
  • Financial background working with assets, markets, resources and funding preferred

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

 

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $89,000.00 to $121,000.00 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
