Job Description Summary

The Sales Analyst position is one that works cross-functionally across the sales and corporate organization to analyze sales data and provide data driven insights to drive sales growth and optimize business strategies.  Using both industry and technical knowledge as well as an understanding of business operations, this position performs ongoing, complex analyses of sales activities, forecasts and performance, distribution and product mix and business intelligence that lead to the delivery of fact-based intelligence to sales and company leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Generates and/or updates daily/weekly/monthly reports on performance and key sales performance indicators (KPIs), identify and communicate trends to sales leaders with recommendations for potential action.  
  • Partners with colleagues to generate requirements for dashboards and other recurring reporting that is a candidate for automation.
  • Develops customized analytical reports to meet requests of internal and external partners.  Evaluates all intelligence to identify actionable trends and patterns.  
  • Scrutinizes anomalies or outliers in the data and conduct research to recommend a course of action and communicate it with team and corporate leaders.
  • Seeks opportunities to use data to model what if scenarios and assess new strategies as it relates to distribution channels, customer (e.g., contractor, distributor, etc.) product mix, rebate programs and sales performance.  
  • Leverages advanced modeling and mathematics to proactively perform quantitative and qualitative exploration that informs sales process optimization, forecasting & planning and cross functional collaboration.
  • Develops modeling and analysis to evaluate potential strategies and tactics being considered as well as propose implementation methods for how processes are developed for field level execution.
  • Conducts market research to identify trends, competitive landscape and growth opportunities.  Leverage internal and external analysis to create presentations containing findings and recommendations and represent to team and corporate leaders.
  • Leads ad-hoc analysis projects in partnership with executive sponsors to support specific sales strategic and tactical efforts.
  • Works closely with IT partners to inform the creation of data structures that enable business insights and strategies.  Reinforces best practices of data stewardship to ensure high integrity of data and allow for accurate reporting.  Operates in accordance with optimal data management and reporting practices.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software – including: computers, printers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills with common analytic tools and platforms (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerBI, SQL, R, Tableau, Python, etc)
  • Familiarity with common sales enablement platforms (e.g. salesforce.com)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to turn insights into sound recommendations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Shows careful attention to detail
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze moderately difficult to complex sales scenarios, draw conclusions based on analysis and recommend alternative solutions 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, effectively collaborating with internal teams and event organizers

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree in finance, mathematics, business administration, marketing, economics, data science or other related field required
  • 3-5 years related experience in sales operations or related role, including experience with data reporting, modeling and operational analysis, required

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

 

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
