JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sales Training Specialist is passionate about process, training, and leading enablement programs designed to increase revenue velocity by developing sales training courses and managing sales onboarding for our sales team.

 

The Sales Training Specialist is responsible for collaborating with the sales team to identify issues they are facing. This role is responsible for maximizing their effectiveness through these training programs and includes creating the learning material, monitoring performance after each session and making recommendations for improvements.

 

The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. Key areas of responsibility include new sales hire onboarding and professional development support for our sales teams.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Responsibilities

Delivery, management, and scalability of onboarding / continuous learning programs for our sales functions

Determines training needs by traveling with sales representatives; observing sales encounters; studying sales results reports; conferring with sales managers.

Uses an array of tools to produce a variety of materials that promote learning through self-study, practice, and performance support to decrease ramp time and increase the effectiveness of our sales teams

Coach and mentor new sales hires throughout their onboarding and foster a data-driven coaching culture in partnership with leadership

Implement new processes and tools to increase the efficiency of our sales teams while removing as many obstacles as possible from their current workflow

Develop and curate all content for our sales training, including playbooks, training, marketing, and product material, to ensure that all information is easily and readily available

Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to translate their knowledge into effective learning experiences for our sales-facing teams

Develops individual results by maintaining policy and procedure resources; providing coaching; conducting training sessions; developing outcome improvement resources.

Improves training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques; making support readily available; integrating support with routine job functions.

Supports training financial objectives by recommending budget items; controlling costs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Analyze day to day needs for training in the sales team.

Conduct training sessions for new and current sales personnel.

Develop new approaches and techniques for making improvements in training programs.

Collect feedback from trainers and trainees and identify the issues they had during the process.

Generate results and measure the performance of trainees after the session.

Coordinate with external trainers and Sales Manager.

Maintain and update records of training material.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong working knowledge of the sales process and its best practices.

Proficiency in e-learning platforms.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to quickly build solid partnerships and effectively communicate needs and challenges

Ability to design effective sales training programs.

Ability to measure an employee's performance.

Ability to motivate others to improve their skills.

Outstanding coaching and sales skills.

Excellent time management and customer service skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Great interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to multitask as and when required.

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

Bachelors degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field.

Proven 2-4 years of experience as a Sales Training Specialist, Corporate Sales Trainer or a similar role.

Successful record of building effective onboarding, certification, and adult learning programs

Strong knowledge of sales processes, methodologies, and processes to increase revenue

Professional certifications in sales training for example Certified Inside Sales Professional (CISP), Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP) will be preferred.

Prior experience accessing information in Salesforce a plus.

Experience in a large, global organization is preferred.

Demonstrated customer orientation and detail-orientation, commitment to flawless execution.

Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to achieve outcomes
