Sales Training Manager
The Sales Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously enhancing sales onboarding and training programs that align with operational sales goals and the company’s broader learning and development strategy. This position manages multiple learning initiatives across the full learning design lifecycle: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Leverages strong communication and influencing skills to introduce new programs, advocate for innovative technologies, and provide coaching on various learning channels, including instructor-led, virtual, and online platforms.
Responsibilities
- Leads onboarding and continuous development programs for field sales professionals, ensuring alignment with sales goals and seamless integration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborates with content owners and SMEs to design, update, and maintain training materials (guides, presentations, job aids), ensuring content accuracy and relevance.
- Utilizes content management systems (CMS) for content governance, ensuring centralized, accessible and up-to-date training resources that are aligned with regulatory and company standards.
- Develops and maintains a system for version control and documentation to prevent outdated or conflicting materials from being distributed.
- Partners effectively with sales leadership, marketing, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure training initiatives align with business objectives.
- Tracks training outcomes and performance metrics, including ramp-up time, competency achievement, and sales KPIs, to assess the impact of training initiatives.
- Leveraging feedback and analysis, continuously assesses training programs to evaluate training effectiveness and ensure that all training content remains accurate and aligned with sales strategies and objectives. Identifies improvement opportunities, proposing and implementing solutions as necessary.
- Continuously assess the program’s effectiveness through feedback and metrics to optimize participant outcomes and ensure content remains current.
- Evaluates sales team member performance, providing performance feedback and/or one-on-one coaching as necessary to help them apply training concepts and improve performance.
- Partners with sales leadership to identify training gaps and develop solutions to address individual performance and competency needs. Supports sales managers in mentoring efforts by providing resources, best practices, and tools to enhance their leadership and coaching capabilities.
- Leverages knowledge of adult learning theory and training best-practices to design quality e-learning programs and engaging learning resources.
- Explores third-party learning tools and other solutions to identify opportunities to improve system functionality. Collaborates with external SMEs or consultants to incorporate best practices and new learning methods into training programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software – including: computers, printers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in the use of learning management systems (LMS), content development tools, SuccessFactors, assessment tools (e.g., Google Forms, SurveyMonkey) and Showpad
- Working knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory and educational methods

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5-7 years work experience developing and leading training and development programs required
- Prior work experience in sales, sales support or enablement, and/or working directly for Viega required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred
Total Rewards Package:
Compensation
- Base: $89,224 to $121,847 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
