Supply Chain Controller

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Supply Chain Controller is responsible for providing financial leadership and oversight to the Manufacturing, Freight and Logistics functions.  This is a key leadership position within the finance function.  This role will work closely with both our business unit accounting and financial planning functions.




  • Leads manufacturing, freight and logistics financial modeling, analytics and cost accounting functions.
  • Actively supports key financial planning cycles (forecast, budget, and five-year-plan).
  • Supports annual external financial audit process.  Responsible for the annual physical inventory and recurring cycle count testing processes. 
  • Drives accountability culture in the Supply Chain function through the analysis of key KPIs and metrics.
  • Analyzes key category spend drivers and determines opportunities for improvement in product costs, logistics and freight spend.
  • Key participant supporting the company’s S&OP demand and supply planning process.
  • Drives working capital improvements for inventory and AP with the ultimate goal of achieving ROCE targets.
  • Ensures proper financial controls and related company policies are met to limit business risks
  • Manages all aspects of the cost accounting and inventory control functions.  Participates in the company transfer pricing and contract manufacturing processes.  Calculates E&O and other inventory reserves.
  • Participates in the development of business cases to support future investments in new plant and equipment.  Tracks key capital investment projects and collaborates with accounting to ensure proper accounting entries.
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement and creates a funnel of potential efficiency gains and cost reduction opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, SAP and SAP-BW
  • Knowledge of finance, general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivables, as well as budgeting and cost control principles
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to read and interpret agreements and implement relevant provisions of same
  • Ability to be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to be credible and ethical at all times
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience accounting/finance experience and 5+ years in a financial controlling leadership capacity within a fast growth manufacturing organization.
  • BS in Accounting or Finance. 
  • MBA and or CPA strongly preferred.
  • SAP ERP system experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a multi-national company strongly preferred.
