JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for tracking all domestic (North America) freight. Duties include tracking, documenting, and communicating statuses of inbound and outbound shipments, managing exceptions, and managing rate requests. This position will work closely with 3rd party carriers, Viega Customer Service, and Viega DC management teams.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Customer Delivery Tracking

  • Create Excel spreadsheet used to document all pertinent details of FTL shipments, including pickup and delivery appointments and arrivals
  • Track outbound deliveries

Origin Tracking

  • Track pickups at Viega origins

Inbound Booking

  • Book all inbound loads
  • Track inbound pickups and deliveries

Intersite Booking

  • Book all intersite loads

Rate Requests

  • Gather, document, and respond to freight rate requests

Exception Management

  • Problem solve to mitigate late deliveries
  • Document and communicate all late pickups and deliveries and other exceptions
  • Manage Viegaforce cases that are not related to claims

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to correspond with carriers and follow through with Viega expectations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to be a self-starter and to multi-task
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High school degree required
  • Some college preferred
  • 1-2 years transportation and logistics experience

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Total Rewards Package: 

Compensation: 

  • Base: $46,000 - $60,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market. 
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
