Job Description Summary

The Manager, Sales Controlling is responsible for leading a high-performing team focused on sales performance analysis, rebate management, and strategic business support. This role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable insights to key stakeholders across sales, operations, finance, and marketing. The position plays a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring effective rebate program management.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the primary liaison and subject matter expert for the Sales Controlling team, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Sales Controlling team to drive operational excellence, foster continuous improvement, and support individual performance growth.
  • Establish team objectives and KPIs aligned with organizational goals; monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the reliability, accessibility, and accuracy of financial data assets, partnering with IT, ERP owners, and executive stakeholders to enforce master data standards and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely sales performance reports, dashboards, and key analyses to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Manage sales forecasting processes, including data analysis and strategic recommendations to support planning and execution.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end rebate process, including program design support, accruals, validation, tracking, reporting, and financial reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure rebate programs are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Monitor and analyze sales trends, customer performance, and profitability, identifying risks, opportunities, and commercial improvement areas.
  • Optimize business processes and reporting systems to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency through automation and continuous system enhancements.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure audit readiness for all sales data and rebate-related activities, adhering to compliance and quality standards.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities in close coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Will be required to attend occasional, local off-site meetings and, as needed, operate a motor vehicle for business purposes. Reasonable accommodations will be considered.

What We're Looking For:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong foundation in financial controlling, including business analysis, forecasting, planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Proficient in financial systems and tools, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and enterprise platforms such as SAP, SAP-BW, and SAP-SAC.
  • Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and analytics languages (e.g., SQL, DAX) to deliver dynamic dashboards and visualizations
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, cost control, and financial compliance.
  • Skilled in budgeting and forecasting methodologies, including short- and long-term planning, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences across in-person and virtual settings.
  • Ability to interpret commercial agreements and apply relevant financial and operational provisions.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to lead teams in producing high-quality outputs under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative team leader and facilitator, adept at building consensus and driving alignment across departments through effective meetings and communication.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred;
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial controlling, sales analysis, or business planning, preferably within a complex or matrixed organization.
  • Proven management experience in a team-oriented environment strongly preferred, with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $112,000 - $145,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
