Job Description Summary
We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media and Content Creation Intern to join our marketing team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management and content creation within a dynamic and supportive environment.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in creating and editing engaging content (video, photo, graphics) for various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and wider marketing team to develop and implement social media strategies that align with our brand goals.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content and engagement.
- Help build out the monthly social media calendar in alignment with brand pillars and overall marketing strategy.
- Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns and promotions.
- Perform daily community engagement tasks which include responding to comments, direct messages, and story tags.
- Assist in supporting our social media influencer program; help maintain those relationships, monitor their social activity, and approve their social content for posting in alignment with our social strategy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media and content creation.
- Assist with other marketing and administrative tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Availability to work a 40-hour week within standard business hours throughout the summer
- Familiarity with basic research methods, including survey construction and secondary research
- Ability to bring together various types of research to create informed recommendations on next steps for projects
- Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar. Experience with Photoshop or Canva is a plus
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices
- Strong creative and storytelling skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited university – including Marketing, Research, Social Sciences
- Graduate students, or undergraduate students who have completed at least 3 full years of undergraduate course work preferred.
- Students who have conducted some form of research on medium to large-scale projects with an eye to addressing clear hypotheses and include next steps and / or recommendations following completion of research preferred.
- A portfolio or samples of previous video editing and social media work is a plus.

Compensation

Base: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
