Business Development Manager - Data Centers

Job Description Summary  

The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of advanced sales and account strategies that drive organizational growth and align with corporate objectives; establishing and strengthening strategic partnerships with key decision makers at major accounts within the data center, colocation, and cloud infrastructure markets; providing thought leadership in sales planning and market positioning; guiding cross-functional initiatives to expand market share; delivering high-impact presentations to executive-level stakeholders; overseeing complex negotiations and influencing long-term agreements; ensuring CRM data integrity and leveraging analytics for forecasting and strategic insights; and mentoring senior professionals to elevate team capability.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Develop and execute advanced strategic plans for the region, including ownership strategies for high-value accounts. Lead initiatives that impact regional and national growth objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and recognized expert in business development practices, market trends, and customer engagement strategies. Provide insights that shape product development and go-to-market approaches.
  • Manage complex, high-impact projects and processes across multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals. Act as a mentor and resource for developing talent within the business development team.
  • Influence internal policies, practices, and procedures to optimize business development outcomes. Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with developers, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPCs), and other strategic partners. Negotiate and close high-value deals that require complex solutions.
  • Monitor regional KPIs and performance metrics, leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. Ensure accurate reporting and forecasting through CRM systems.
  • Represent the organization at major industry events, symposiums, and experience center activities. Deliver thought leadership presentations to advance market positioning.
  • Travel up to 50% to engage with key stakeholders and oversee strategic initiatives.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Expert-level understanding of business development strategies and complex sales cycles
  • Deep knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and competitive dynamics
  • Advanced CRM expertise and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial modeling and strategic account planning

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience 

  • 7-12 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and building strategic partnerships
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies and manage client relationships

Total Rewards Package:  

Compensation 

  • Base: $109,000 - $155,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market. 
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
