Job Description Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of sales and account strategies that contribute to organizational growth and align with corporate objectives; building and maintaining relationships with key contacts; assisting in sales planning and market positioning efforts; collaborating with cross-functional teams to help expand market presence; preparing and delivering presentations to stakeholders; participating in negotiations and supporting the execution of agreements; maintaining CRM data accuracy and using analytics to provide insights for forecasting; and sharing knowledge with peers to promote team effectiveness.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans for the assigned region to achieve revenue and growth targets. Drive ownership strategies for key accounts and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Establish and maintain high-level business relationships with owners, operators, corporate stakeholders, developers, property managers, general contractors, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPCs), and other strategic partners. Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their product strategies, requirements, and constraints, and delivering tailored solutions.
- Independently manage and grow the regional area pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and prioritization of opportunities.
- Monitor regional KPIs and performance metrics, leveraging CRM tools such as Salesforce for reporting and analysis.
- Work closely with internal teams—including sales leadership, technical managers, and engineering services—to coordinate regional efforts. Influence policies, practices, and procedures to optimize business development outcomes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing work and sharing best practices. Represent the organization at industry symposiums and experience center events, positioning the company as a market leader.
- Conduct high-impact sales calls and deliver professional presentations to diverse audiences, including architects, builders, developers, facility engineers, and code officials. Utilize advanced presentation tools and product demonstrations to drive market growth.
- Travel up to 50% to engage with customers, attend industry events, and support regional initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced understanding of business development strategies and sales processes
- Market knowledge and landscape awareness
- CRM expertise (SalesForce preferred) and Microsoft Office Proficiency
- Understanding of financial principles and ROI analysis
- Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Excellent presentation, public speaking and professional writing skills
- Highly advanced negotiation, persuasion, selling and closing skills
- Strategic sales planning and prospecting new customers
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions
- Identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and building strategic partnerships
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies and manage client relationships

Total Rewards Package:
Compensation

Base: $89,000 - $122,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.

Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
