JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for managing segment specific aspects of Viega LLC’s sales activity in the assigned segment domestically, in support of the Global Industrial Vertical Strategy; secures master specifications, accurately inputs data in CRM to drive field sales on all current & future projects, travels domestically as required & internationally as requested by management; responsibly manages expenditures; develops and implements marketing, sales and account strategies; cultivates long-term relationships with key account decision makers in both design & construction; delivers professional and accurate product presentations; supports the development of and helps drive business relationships with key wholesalers and contractors; maintains relationships with specific industry organizations; follows-up on leads; communicates with product management and cross-functional teams regarding product launches; accurately reports sales forecasts.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Sales, Training and Presentations

  • Develops and implements sales and account strategies in accordance with corporate goals; implements plans for strategic accounts in order to exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty within specified territory.
  • Assists in cultivating long-term relationships with key account decision makers; develops a complete understanding of the organization’s structure and key buying influences of assigned account.
  • Delivers professional sales presentations, utilizing product samples and PowerPoint slides, to various individuals, including but not limited to cross-functional teams, facility engineers, plant managers, safety engineers, architects, professional engineering firms, distributors, code officials, educators, wholesalers and contractors, etc. in order to advance market growth and product development.
  • Makes end user calls to increase demand for company’s products; maintains a cycle of regularly scheduled calls and visits to customers and reps; makes plant and facility visits to obtain contact information for scheduling future appointments.
  • Develops specifications to specialized key accounts prominent in the United States but also aligns with our Global Vertical Initiative.
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety classes within plants to be fully accredited and credentialed to visit plant locations using proper techniques and equipment. Will be required to make sales calls in highly volatile areas where safety is a high concern.
  • Attends and participates in extracurricular activities with industry associations, which usually take place after normal business hours.
  • Prepares and coordinates with cross-functional teams new promotions for company’s products.
  • Provides on-site training on the proper use of company’s products and tools.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled sales meetings in order to gain knowledge of company’s products.
  • Represents company at trade show events; coordinates efforts with cross-functional teams; explores new market trends and increases networking within industry.
  • Supports cross-functional teams through joint sales calls and technical training. Cultivates long-term relationships with key account decision makers; develops a complete understanding of the organization’s structure and key buying influences of assigned account.
  • Delivers professional product presentations, utilizing product samples and PowerPoint slides, to various individuals, including but not limited to cross-functional teams, facility managers and engineers, distributors, code officials, wholesalers, contractors, etc. in order to advance market growth and product development.
  • Develops, strategizes, plans, and maintains business relationships with key wholesalers and key contractors; works with cross-functional teams to coordinate and implement sales blitzes.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and memberships with all specific industry organizations and industry associations; in order to gain knowledge and up-to-date industry standards.
  • Receives and follows-up on various leads from trade shows or other sources; prospects, identifies and prioritizes in order to make contact to provide assistance and requested information; searches industry informational web-sites for projects.
  • Communicates with product management and cross-functional teams regarding product launches and product timelines; forecasts inventory accordingly; notifies wholesalers/contractors of any shortages, shipping and availability issues; ensures proper market execution regarding presence, integrity and deployment.
  • Represents company at industry association meetings and trade shows to gain visibility, answer questions and promote products.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt service to customers; keeps informed on company contract procedures and product pricing; resolves customer complaints as needed.

 

Administrative and Reporting

  • Maintains monthly sales reports, business metrics and identifies business opportunities; reports on trends and new products.
  • Provides weekly reporting and updates
  • Responsibly manages expense reports and submits accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Updates CRM database with daily activities.
  • Monitors, evaluates and reports on the activities and products of competitors.
  • Provides detailed call reports for meetings with distributors and reps.
  • Retrieves leads from various sources; prospects, identifies and prioritizes leads in order to make contact and follow-up; searches Industrial information web site for projects and MRO targets.
  • Forecasts and analyzes changes in customers’ buying patterns and product requirements.

  • Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned

 

Special  Job Dimensions

  • Will be required to travel up to 75% of the time.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five years successful industrial sales experience required
  • General working knowledge of facilities in assigned segment
  • Aware of current trends in the specific industry through association memberships and trade associations

 

Industry Segments include, Power Generation, Food & Beverage, Chemical Processing, Pharma/Bio Tech, Heavy Industries, Auto and High-Tech.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
