JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Manager, Business Development leads a team of Business Development Managers and overall growth strategy across various market segments. This role establishes priorities, develops strategic account and market plans, and ensures the team identifies and pursues opportunities that leverage Viega's full portfolio of solutions. The Manager provides leadership, coaching, and performance oversight while partnering with Sales, Engineering and Specifications, Marketing, Product Management, and other business leaders to drive cross-functional alignment, execute strategic initiatives, and deliver measurable business growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Development professionals to achieve business objectives and growth targets.
  • Coach and develop team members on the construction project lifecycle, including project identification, opportunity qualification, specification development, stakeholder engagement, project tracking, and conversion to sales.
  • Develop employees' consultative selling, relationship management, and strategic account planning skills to increase influence with contractors, engineers, owners, distributors, and other key stakeholders.

 

Sales

 

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that support company growth objectives across multiple market segments.
  • Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, applications, and growth opportunities.
  • Establish priorities and strategic initiatives that expand market presence and increase revenue.
  • Guide the development and execution of strategic account plans and pursuit strategies.
  • Monitor business performance and adjust plans as needed to achieve targeted results.
  • Maintains overview of customer database in CRM system, including segmentation and nesting of accounts. Ensures communication to the sales team on changes or updates required to customer accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, decision-makers, influencers, and strategic partners.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Engineering and Specifications, Marketing, Product Management, and other stakeholders to align business development activities with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to execute strategic initiatives and maximize growth opportunities.
  • Clarify ownership, roles, and responsibilities for complex opportunities involving multiple functions or regions.
  • Delivers professional sales presentations to various individuals and accounts in order to advance market growth
  • Assists with creating specifications for inclusion of products into facilities and large accounts
  • Utilizes analytics to monitor KPIs of team to ensure success metrics are achieved; develop countermeasures to improve metrics when necessary

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

AND

  • 5 years of successful sales or business development experience required
  • 3+ years of successful sales leadership experience required
  • Working knowledge of customers, trends, and associations in the industrial or commercial construction market required

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $100,000 to $142,000 USD annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
