JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Manager, Marine Sales is responsible for all aspects of managing the Marine Sales team and its associated strategy. This role will be responsible for creating and executing the strategy for Marine in alignment with the overall corporate strategy. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

•    Leads, selects, trains, motivates, reviews, coaches, develops, and retains a high-performance team
•    Directs all aspects of the Marine strategy initiatives. 
•    Motivates team to improve quality of work performed and provides training and development.
•    Meets regularly with team to discuss goals, strategies, and objectives; monitors overall performance and provides direction and objective coaching as needed.
•    Analyzes and develops individual business plans to achieve goals. 
•    Ensures proper handling of customer orders, according to agreement.
•    Manages P&L and budget to obtain regional profitability and achieve operating profit goals.
•    Develops and implements marketing/sales and account strategies in accordance with corporate goals; implements plans for strategic accounts within specified region to exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
•    Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates; develops sales campaigns accordingly.
•    Cultivates long-term relationships with key region account decision makers; develops a complete understanding of the organization’s structure and key buying influences of assigned account.
•    Delivers professional sales presentations, utilizing product samples and PowerPoint slides, to various individuals, including but not limited to, facility engineers, plant managers, distributors, code officials, educators, wholesalers, contractors, etc. to advance market growth and product development.
•    Develops and maintains relationships and memberships with all Marine organizations and industry associations; to gain knowledge and up-to-date industry standards.
•    Communicates with product management and cross-functional teams regarding product launches and product timelines, forecasts inventory accordingly, notifies wholesalers/contractors of any shortages, shipping and availability issues.
•    Negotiates and manages contractor/builder rebate programs, wholesale distribution tier pricing, warranty claims, contractor tool request etc.
•    Represents company at industry association meetings and trade shows to gain visibility, answer questions and promote products.
•    Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt service to customers; keeps informed on company contract procedures and product pricing; resolves customer complaints as needed.
•    Maintains sales reports, forecasts, and business metrics; identifies opportunities; reports on trends with distributors and products, what competitors are doing and on new business initiatives.
•    Performs other duties as required and/or assigned
•    Will be required to travel up to 80% of the time.
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•    Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, MapPoint, CRM and BW
•    Knowledge of budget preparation and allocation
•    Excellent verbal and written communication
•    Excellent business, decision-making and negotiation skills
•    Solid organization and time management skills
•    Excellent interpersonal skills
•    Advanced selling and presentation skills

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

•    Bachelors Degree preferred 
•    8-10 years of progressive sales experience
•    5 years of experience leading a team
•    Proficiency and Spanish and Portuguese a plus.
