JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Opportunity Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating potential Industrial projects, investments, or business opportunities for the organization. They will assess the financial, win/share ratio, and strategic aspects of these opportunities to support data driven decision making by Industrial management. A strong candidate will combine project/Industrial knowledge, financial acumen, market research, and risk assessment to provide valuable insights to senior management and the sales organization on a recurring basis. The role will also drive accountability from our sales team as project deadlines approach, ensure maximum share of wallet is achieved, and communicate trends in an ever-evolving industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Sales and Initiatives
• Opportunity Identification – Identify and research potential projects, investments, or business opportunities in line with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives driving accountability with the sales organization
• Financial Analysis – Perform win/share probabilities and Viega estimated sales by industry sector.
• Risk Assessment – evaluate the risks associated with each opportunity, including market risks, key stakeholders, and funding.
• Collaboration – Work with and supports cross functional groups including Industrial Specification Engineers, Capex, and MRO Sales, Sales Excellence, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
• Decision Support – Provide data-driven insights to Industrial leadership to support decision-making related to project and program investment opportunities
• Feasibility Studies – Provide information for feasibility studies and business cases for potential projects or applications.
• Reporting – Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations to Industrial leadership
• Continuous Improvement – Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technology to continuously improve the analysis and evaluation process
• Travels occasionally to various sites and meetings to gain context for the size and scope of projects or conversations being had within Industrial
Reporting
• Maintains monthly reports and business metrics; identifies business opportunities; reports on industry trends and new products.
• Provides weekly reporting and updates to management and/or sales team regarding updates to key projects both ongoing and as requested.
• Tracks travel and incidental expenses; prepares expense reports; ensures expenses are within budget parameters.
• Maintains and updates Salesforce and engineering guide specification database.
Other
• Attends meetings as required or assigned.
• Participates in industrial events to keep up to speed with industry trends
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Special Job Dimensions
• Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficient with computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP and Salesforce.
• Knowledge of Industrial projects (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Detailed organizational skills.
• Solid relationship building and strategic selling skills.
• Ability to interpret and forecast changes in customers’ product requirements.
• Ability to function autonomously and as a team player.
• Ability to identify market dynamics and quickly define and implement well-devised competitive practices.
• Ability to give presentations in front of various types and sized groups (2-25 people).
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.
• Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, economics, or a related field
• Proven experience in financial analysis, project management, and/or project evaluation
• 2+ years of industry related experience
• Driver’s License required

Total Rewards Package
Compensation
- Base: $58,401.00-$106,290.00 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
