JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

A Residential Business Manager plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Viega, the Independent Manufacturing Representative Agencies (IMRAs), Residential Sales Managers, Field Sales Leadership and the market. This position involves collaborating with Field Sales Leadership in developing and installing go to market activities with Viega’s IMRAs to promote and sell products to various contractors, engineers, and distributors. This role works closely with Regional Sales Managers overseeing a team of representative agencies who act as an extension of the Viega field sales team. This role focuses on relationship management, performance monitoring, and operational coordination across departments to drive business growth and align with company objectives.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment among Independent Manufacturing Rep Agencies (IMRAs), Residential Sales Managers, District Managers, and Regional Sales Managers.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of IMRAs to support Residential Sales Managers.
  • Set clear performance expectations for IMRAs and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Engage in annual planning with Residential Sales Managers, setting budgets, reviewing progress, and ensuring succession planning within IMRAs.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the IMRA sales force aligned with field sales activities to achieve company objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Establish sales targets for IMRAs and monitor progress toward achieving them.
  • Facilitate relationships between IMRAs, wholesalers, and contractors by coordinating resources and addressing issues promptly.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the manufacturer and representatives to support Residential Sales Managers and Sales Leadership.
  • Develop and recommend standardized protocols and SOPs to proactively manage problem resolution across IMRAs.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as contractor conversions and opportunities won.
  • Monitor IMRAs performance against established goals and ensure report accuracy.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and distribute regular sales performance reports.
  • Ensure that IMRAs are well-versed in the manufacturer’s product lines.
  • Organize training sessions and resources to keep the IMRA team well educated on the Viega portfolio and value proposition(s), new product development, sales strategies, corporate policies, technical acumen and general selling skills.
  • Develop and enhance company policies regarding IMRAs operations.
  • Ensure IMRAs are proficient in utilizing company tools and resources (e.g., ViegaForce, technical resources).
  • Collaborate with Marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Work with National Accounts teams to communicate with IMRAs regarding information on promotions and programs with distributors and indirect customers.
  • Ensure IMRAs effectively communicate the brand’s value proposition to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee commission structures to ensure fair compensation and motivation of IMRAs.
  • Manage budgets for each territory and IMRA group to optimize sales effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as strategy, marketing, finance, supply chain, manufacturing and product management to support IMRAs needs.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements within the agency network.
  • Ensure timely distribution of commissions, monthly sales reports, and transactional information.
  • Influence product development and marketing strategies through market feedback.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; SAP, SAC, Power BI, and Salesforce

​​​​​​​Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics or related field preferred
  • Five+ years of experience in Sales Management, Strategy / Consulting, or Business Development with a proven track record executing sales strategy and developing tactical sales plans. 
  • Two+ years of leadership experience in a relevant industry (e.g., Construction, Construction Materials, Manufacturing) preferred. 
  • Experience working with independent sales agencies preferred.

 

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

 

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $81,113 to $121,847 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
