JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Retail Sales Leader position will be responsible to develop and drive the sales strategy for the Retail Division; creating long-term relationships with strategic accounts, building and leading a high-performing sales team, and partnering with Supply Chain to ensure optimization and timely delivery of products to retail partners.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Division Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive growth and profitability within the building materials sector.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team from scratch, encompassing diverse disciplines such as data analysis, supply chain management, and customer relations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key retail partners and stakeholders; addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
Team Building and Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that promotes continuous improvement and excellence.
- Develop clear performance metrics and conduct regular team assessments to ensure objectives are met.
Supply Chain:
- Ensure efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and timely delivery of products to retail partners by partnering with supply chain and relaying customer demand.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize supply chain processes and reduce costs.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and drive sales growth.
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Monitor sales performance, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to senior management.
Other:
- Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Special Job Dimensions:
- Will be required to travel up to 60% of the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook products, SAP and Business Warehouse; Salesforce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and analytical skills.

- Strong relationship building and strategic selling skills.
- Influential and knowledgeable of the complete supply chain of plumbing materials, from manufacturer to national retail wholesalers.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related degree, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or related field. MBA preferred.
AND
- 10 years of experience in retail sales management with a focus on building materials and home improvement products.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Total Rewards Package:
Compensation
- Base: $89,000 to $161,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- Bonus or Commission: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
