Material Handler - 3rd shift

Job Description Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for making sure lines are adequately stocked with raw material according to production schedule; loading, unloading and moving material from raw material warehouse into production as needed.
What You'll Do:
Material Flow and Distribution
- Review production schedule to determine materials needed for production run; ensure machines, equipment and materials are place in order to run daily production.
- Manually and visually check raw material levels in resin boxes; shovel loose materials inside boxes to ensure continuous suction and flow throughout tubing.
- Review production schedule for color changes and changeovers; pulls materials and distributes to designated areas to ensure they are in place for next scheduled run; at end of each schedule runs out materials to assist with easy changeover.
- Pull raw material as needed or requested from warehouse utilizing forklift or pallet jack.
Material Flow and Distribution
- Break down empty gaylord boxes; stack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together utilizing banding machine; load bundles onto a trailer utilizing a pallet jack; transport gaylord boxes to recycling trailer.
Recycling
- Maintain tracking system of materials being removed from warehouse by pulling empty boxes and tracking lot numbers and quantity used; update tracking system.
Other
- Attend meetings, workshops and/or learning sessions as required and/or assigned.
- Empty trash as on as needed.
- Unload trucks as needed.
- Serve as a back up to Raw Materials Receiving Operator and/or other functions/areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

- May be required to work different shifts if needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of basic reading, writing and math
- Knowledge of raw materials
- Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to interpret production schedule
- Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department
- Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AND
- 1-2 years of experience
