JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented part-time Engineer to join our team. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity for an engineering student to gain hands-on experience in process/project engineering, technical writing, and process implementation within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Engineering:

  • Assist in planning, executing, and closing engineering projects.
  • Support project managers in tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.

 

Technical Writing:

  • Document work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness of technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather necessary information.

 

Process Implementation:

  • Work with technicians and operators to implement new work instructions.
  • Monitor adherence to work instructions and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct on-site observations to ensure compliance with established procedures.

 

Training Development:

  • Collaborate with trainers/supervisors to develop a comprehensive curriculum for training new technicians.
  • Assist in creating training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Participate in training sessions and provide support to trainees.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Engineering and Technology
  • Knowledge of Practical application of Engineering principles/ techniques/ procedures relative to area of support.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes is a plus.

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Pursuing degree in Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology with 2 years of course work completed.
