Part Time Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented part-time Engineer to join our team. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity for an engineering student to gain hands-on experience in process/project engineering, technical writing, and process implementation within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Engineering:
- Assist in planning, executing, and closing engineering projects.
- Support project managers in tracking project progress and ensuring timely completion.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
Technical Writing:
- Document work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various manufacturing processes.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness of technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather necessary information.
Process Implementation:
- Work with technicians and operators to implement new work instructions.
- Monitor adherence to work instructions and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Conduct on-site observations to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Training Development:
- Collaborate with trainers/supervisors to develop a comprehensive curriculum for training new technicians.
- Assist in creating training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises.
- Participate in training sessions and provide support to trainees.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Engineering and Technology
- Knowledge of Practical application of Engineering principles/ techniques/ procedures relative to area of support.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes is a plus.
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- Pursuing degree in Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technology with 2 years of course work completed.
