Quality Systems Coordinator II - 1st shift

Responsible for the successful implementation and continual improvement of Viega LLC’s Quality Management System (QMS). The Quality Systems coordinator II will work closely with employees at all levels to train, develop and manage value-added documentation, audit for compliance and improvement and work with processes owners for quick resolution of non-conformances.




Quality Management System

  • Facilitates the implementation, maintenance and improvement of Viega’s Quality Management Systems (QMS); ensures proper approvals are obtained and records are in order.
  • Manages and maintains QMS controlled documents and quality records. Facilitates review and release of QMS documents.
  • Collaborates with and trains others to create forms, documents, process flows and descriptions, plant standards, testing descriptions and work instructions.
  • Provides ongoing support for continued improvement of QMS processes and documents.
  • Administrates and coordinates document and record control systems and internal quality systems; conducts verification of completed, corrective and preventive actions.



  • Leads, facilitates and participates in internal system audits, process audits, product audits and traceability audits
  • Facilitates the review of internal audit results and audit planning, including the creation of audit checklists, reports, audit action plans and other associated audit documentation.
  • Creates and maintains the internal audit schedule.
  • Participates and assists with external supplier audits and all associated activities.
  • Documents, communicates and follows up on audit results and actions.
  • Researches new standards and industry best practices to apply and continually improve Viega’s audit practices


Quality Improvement

  • Identifies areas for quality improvement and works with cross-functional teams to implement changes to achieve quality initiatives
  • Performs data analysis and reports findings to facilitate continuous improvement of product quality and processes.
  • Trains others on improvement, quality standards, tools and techniques.
  • Wiki Based Intranet Space Administration
  • Performs administrative functions within Viega Intranet. Designs, creates and updates content of QA Intranet pages and spaces. 
  • Assists with the training of new users or new modules.
  • Ensures all content is correct, relevant and visually appealing.
  • Provides regular status updates to internal customers through the Intranet and email.



  • Reports non-conformance issues to proper personnel; communicates with various personnel any issues relating to quality.
  • Supports quality projects and improvement workshops as needed and/or required.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge and skill with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, CAQ, CRM, SAP and Wiki
  • Knowledge of math and statistics in order to compute measurements and perform studies
  • Advanced Knowledge of quality control and management systems, including ISO 9001
  • Able to conduct process and system audits.  
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Knowledge of process mapping and process improvement
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to lead others
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work independently
  • Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of related work experience
  • ISO 9001 Lead auditor certification preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred
