JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sustainability Engineer will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to sustainability, reducing our carbon footprint, and implementing clean energy solutions across all manufacturing processes.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize carbon emissions throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of our current carbon footprint from manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for reduction.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend clean energy technologies suitable for our manufacturing processes.
  • Implement and manage clean energy solutions to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in clean energy to continuously improve our practices.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
  • Implement sustainable practices and technologies to enhance overall energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth integration of sustainable practices without compromising productivity.
  • Help establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of sustainability initiatives.
  • Generate regular reports on energy consumption, carbon emissions, and other relevant metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Research and analyze sustainability and ESG trends among peers, clients, and other stakeholders; share creative ideas of how to integrate/improve program.
  • Evaluation of sustainable packaging materials, sourcing of materials, and correlating economical, market, technical, operational, and other impacts
  • With general direction, conducts environmental studies and prepares associated sustainability documentation (e.g., feasibility studies, value engineering) of basic to high complexity.
  • participates in the development of sustainability and mitigation plans.
  • Meet with cross functional teams to discuss recommendations and implement plans, as appropriate.

  • Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Leading and/or contributing to carbon neutrality programs, calculations, and reporting
  • High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and maturity.
  • Strong execution skills, with ability to work independently while pursuing organizational and team goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of clean energy technologies and their practical applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Participating in grassroots or employee-led sustainability efforts

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing and implementing sustainability initiatives within a manufacturing setting preferred.

 

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
