JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for the assembly or packing of various products & performing necessary quality tests according to the product specification while ensuring production demands are met. This could be in Metals or Plastics.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Production
- Receives and understands work orders, instructions, blueprints or diagrams for production process to be performed
- Determines what, how and the quantity to produce according to daily/weekly production schedule.
- Learn the proper use of measuring equipment to ensure all quality specifications are met.
- Assembles, build, and package products according to diagrams and specifications utilizing various equipment.
- Learn to operate any material handling and processing equipment required for production.
- Learn the shop floor management system
- Ability to operate any hand and/or power tools
Supply Raw Material
- Visually checks workstations to determine if supplies are getting low; pulls supplies from designated stocking areas.
- Transports materials to and from workstations utilizing necessary material handling equipment
- Notifies supervisor and/or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels.
Quality and Testing
- Tests and inspects the produced products to ensure they meet all quality specifications.
- Report when products are outside of the specifications to proper supervision and/or quality personnel
- Learn and follow non-conforming product procedures
- Isolates and/or rework items that do not meet specifications or quality standards.
Other
- Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
- These duties/responsibilities the person performs which are not central to the job or the reason why the position exists or are duties shared with other employees to include, but not limited to, the following; 6S activities, workshops, meetings, cross functional training, etc.
Special Job Dimensions
- May be required to work different shifts as needed
- May be required to wear assorted PPE for designated work area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic
- Good manual dexterity skills, working with very small parts
- Ability to perform repetitive functions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, and/or drawings
- Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department
- Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High School diploma/equivalent or 0 – 6 months related experience
