Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant is responsible for sessions in-person and online with conversion targets and existing customers to develop additional Viega business. Delivers customized content for each session based on customer needs, including current methods and materials, scope of work, customer expectations, value perceptions, etc, to create an engaging, one-of-a-kind experience. Desired result of each session: contractor conversion, expand customers Viega product portfolio, gained specification or project approvals.

Responsible for providing best in class customer engagement to support Viega products and applicable systems throughout the plumbing & piping industry. Effectively prepares personnel, contractors, engineers, architects or other end users to handle applications, installation, product updates, and industry practices related to Viega recommendations and the plumbing and piping industries. Identifies specific value propositions for target customer and develops engaging content for each encounter.

Subject matter experts aiding in the development and facilitation of customized content for customer engagement. Responsible for the development and implementation of new materials including hands-on activities, etc.



  • Facilitate Viega Works online sessions for contractor conversions, new users, new distribution points, specification approvals, etc.
  • Drive share of wallet for existing users through understanding current product use and applications through education on tool potential and additional applications in vertical/segment
  • Develop customized content for each customer engagement
  • Customer engagement activities audiences to include contractors, outside sales, inside sales, counter sales, engineers, etc. as targeted
  • Conduct technical training for Viega personnel as part of new hire orientation and Sales onboarding.
  • Utilize various tactics both virtually and in person to drive industry understanding of Viega Value Propositions.
  • Manage hand-off from Inside Sales leads to Outside Sales following Viega Works sessions
  • Continuous improvement of virtual engagement skills to enhance customer experience
  • Supporting activities of other divisions such as tooling initiatives, social media campaigns, product launches, etc.
  • Content development and delivery for industry organizations supporting Viega brand awareness

Curriculum Development

  • Attend meetings internally to brainstorm the development of new delivery methods and content for targeted verticals/segments


  • Work with internal colleagues to identify gaps in industry knowledge of Viega value propositions and technical content
  • Attend Industry events to remain up to date on industry products and trends to better communicate messaging to business partners
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives including but not limited to review of industry best practices, competitor reviews, performance against target metrics and internal evaluations to improve customer experience.
  • Responsible for enhancing existing content and delivery methods to keep up with industry changes; geared towards target audiences and Viega brand awareness.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for curriculum development, curriculum maintenance and instruction.
  • Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of customer activities.


  • Keep track of tooling and material inventory & replenish as needed
  • Attend meetings as required and/or assigned
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
  • Assist in classroom preparation for training courses.
  • Will be required to travel up to 10-20% of the time
  • Complies with the safety rules and guidelines

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma AND
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred OR
  • Plumbing/HVAC/Pipefitter license with industry experience, preferred
  • Experience in outside, inside, or counter sales


  • 3-5 years of related training experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
