JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are seeking highly motivated interns to join our team and embark on a journey of learning and development. This early talent career program will help you learn about our business operations and specifically Viega’s Engineering Services providing design support and piping layout of domestic water, hydronic distribution, natural gas/propane and other various piping systems across commercial, industrial, marine, and residential sectors.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
- Work in your assigned area of expertise within the Engineering Services team and experience first-hand the responsibilities tied to the function.
- Assist in the design of plumbing and mechanical systems and prepare material take-offs.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Revit models, templates and families used both internally and externally for the creation of piping models.
- Assist in the management of all Viega LLC digital content related to 2D and 3D models, material estimation, and pricing services.
- Assist in the review of project specifications and preparation of drawings/schematics to be used in construction of various mechanical piping systems utilizing but not limited to Viega press systems.
- Assist and support the team with administrative duties.
- Actively participate in mentor and team activities.
- Attend weekly team and department meetings.
- Apply academic knowledge to real life scenarios.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- This is a remote position with the potential to participate out in the field for a 2 to 3-week stint with our field Engineering Specifications team to gain additional exposure to how engineering services and the field sales team overlap.
- Consulting meetings with engineering firms
- On site product training with installing contractors
- Sales engagement activities with wholesalers & distributors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: Revit, AutoCAD, 3D file formats, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiar with various 2D and 3D modeling platforms used in the construction industry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote workspace and team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Availability to work a 40-hour week within standard business hours throughout the summer for a minimum of 10 weeks with the possibility to extend up to 12 weeks.
- Ability to travel to one of our training facilities for one week. Expenses will be covered by Viega.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited university.
- Graduate students, or undergraduate students who have completed at least 1 full year of undergraduate course work preferred.
- Have completed an Engineering and/or Construction Management course while attending university.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation

Base: $25.00 - $29.00 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
