Job Description Summary

The Manager, VTEN is responsible for overseeing the Viega North America Trades Education Network (VTEN) program. This position ensures the program aligns with corporate strategic goals and support field sales initiatives for key accounts. Responsible for developing and leading the VTEN sales team and driving the development and growth of the VTEN program.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes the strategic direction and rollout of the Viega Trades Education Network Program across the United States and Canada.
  • Oversees a team by providing strong leadership to staff including hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and talent management.
  • Oversees the budget, financial planning, and profit & loss aspects of the VTEN Program, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and achieving desired program outcomes.  
  • Works closely with Viega’s field sales team to develop and foster relationships with key accounts, educational institutions, and local union halls. 
  • Ensures the program aligns with field sales objectives and initiatives, contributing to the success of mechanical key accounts. Increase demand for company’s products by successful execution of program objectives.
  • Aligns program objectives with corporate strategic goals, with a focus on increasing sales probability and supporting key field sales targets—specifically for large mechanical accounts and local union JATCs (Journey Workers, Apprentice Training Centers).
  • Plans and schedule student intakes with Campus Participants to ensure student participation through the LMS eLearning platform.
  • Builds and maintain strong relationships with current VTEN partners, while also actively selling and promoting the program to new and potential participants.
  • Ensures the coordination of field support for training programs, including on-site orientation, resource delivery, and customized training plans to meet the needs of local teams and key stakeholders.
  • Understands the unique needs of Viega’s customer base, best practices, and product application. 
  • Represents Viega as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert of the VTEN program at internal and external meetings and events.
  • Delivers professional and technical presentations to advance program outcomes and support the continuous education of VTEN customers.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 5-7 years experience related industry experience – preferably as a plumber, pipefitter, HVAC technician or working directly for Viega - required
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a team required
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, specifically in training and development or sales education, with a focus on the mechanical, union, or construction industries required
  • Related professional licensure – i.e., plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC – preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Trade School Completion (Plumbing/HVAC/Pipefitter license) preferred.

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $100,000 to $120,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
