JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Sales Operations Manager enables and supports sales leaders with an aim to sell more efficiently and successfully through the coordination and execution of sales strategy, operations support and performance management.  As the resource of first resort for field sales and sales leadership, this position is a champion of performance management throughout the commercial organization and utilizes analysis, protocols and qualitative knowledge to empower successful outcomes within the sales organization.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Job Responsibilities

  • Functions as the chief partner to sales teams in the execution and support of sales tactics and plans.  Provides critical insight and subject matter expertise (SME) into sales activity, performance and trends to the sales organization and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with sales leadership to define and implement near-term sales initiatives.
  • Leverages qualitative and quantitative analysis from multiple sources using financial, competitor, end customer and industry insights to provide fact base recommendations and lead execution of recommendations throughout entire sales organization.
  • Proactively reviews and effectively communicates clear business insights from complex data sets to improve field sales performance and plans with sales and corporate leaders.
  • Leads tactical execution across the commercial organization, including identification, analysis, planning and measurement across multiple stakeholders. Duties include, but are not limited to: leading territory and sales organization design analytics, assessing sales program design and execution, participating in sales forecasting, planning and pipeline management
  • Recommends process improvement efforts and creates solutions to optimize collaboration, and information sharing and improve sales productivity.
  • Effectively collaborates with cross-functional departments and sales leadership to design, develop and modify processes to deliver sales results and business enhancements.  
  • Conducts data analysis and reporting as needed to provide fact-based analytical support and recommendations to optimize revenue operations.
  • Establishes strong working internal relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to junior members of the team.

  • Will be required to travel up to 15% of the time.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software, including (but not limited to) computers, printers and the Microsoft Office package (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Proficient in the use of data visualization software (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI), enterprise resource planning software (e.g., SAP, Business Warehouse, Salesforce)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for data analysis and modeling
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present at all levels of an organization
  • Working knowledge of CRM and other sales reporting and database structures
  • Self-starter who can provide recommendations/ solutions with minimal instruction
  • Effectively and independently lead projects and initiatives
  • Familiarity or the ability to quickly learn marketing and sales processes and automation
  • Functions effectively in a dynamic work environment, exhibiting ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excels at working as part of a team
  • Effectively manages multiple competing tasks and priorities

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business management, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in sales management, operations, enablement and/or strategy with a proven track record of driving execution of sales tactics and initiatives through strong collaboration with sales and corporate partners
  • Prior work in manufacturing or relevant industry preferred
  • Prior work experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Alteryx or Snowflake) preferred

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $120,000 to $140,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
